Nawras Business offers VSAT technology for companies in rural areas

VSAT service from Nawras allows companies to get closer

Muscat, 7 February 2012 – Nawras, Oman’s customer friendly communications provider, is now helping businesses in rural areas by providing enhanced coverage via the launch of VSAT technology. Even In the most secluded locations, companies can now gain access to the internet or connect to their corporate networks nationwide.

VSAT, as ‘very small aperture terminal’ is commonly known, is used to transmit data and internet via satellite communication.  Two solutions are being offered to Nawras Business customers including dedicated internet bandwidth and Point to Point connectivity over ‘Single Channel Per Carrier’ or SCPC technology. This option is ideal for medium and large companies, particularly where security and high speed is a priority.

Alternatively, best effort internet access over Time Division Multiple Access, known as TDMA provides shared capacity through a more economical service without jeopardising quality levels.  TDMA is ideally suited to meet the requirements of small and medium enterprises.

VSAT from Nawras is easily scalable, reliable and gives cost efficiency without compromising on quality.  Helping customers get more from their business, Nawras tailors products and services to deliver communications that support company development which is always backed up by professional after sales service.

Outlining some of the many benefits of the new VSAT service, Nawras Business Data & Internet Products Manager Mohammed bin Jaffer Al Najwani, said, “We believe that connectivity is no more a luxury, rather a necessity, even when operating in rural areas of the country.  Our VSAT offerings come with variable speeds and prices to suit different budgets and needs.  Most importantly, we are providing an end to end solution with flexibility and reliability that will enhance the communication experience and allow our customers to get more from their business.”

Nawras Internet Professional (NIP-VSAT) with shared bandwidth and unlimited data involves a one-off set up fee of 250 Omani Rials and monthly fees ranging from 319 Omani Rials, while the point to point Nawras Ethernet Service (NES-VSAT) with dedicated bandwidth can be established for a one-time fee of 105 Omani Rials with monthly fees ranging from 669 Omani Rials upwards.

Nawras is proud to be serving an ever growing number of companies from small home offices to large corporations, in the public and private sectors. With an extensive portfolio of mobile and fixed services as well as multi-technology access network, Nawras is able to suggest the most suitable communication solutions to match each business customer’s needs and always offers reliable support.  VSAT is now the latest addition to a long list of services designed to help businesses grow.
