Nawras to rebrand to Ooredoo

Resolutions Passed at Ordinary General Meeting of Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company SAOG

 Muscat 10, September 2014 –An Ordinary General Meeting OGM of the Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company SAOG, “Nawras”, was held at 3pm on Tuesday 9 September 2014 at the Capital Market Authority in Ruwi.

During the meeting, shareholders of the company approvedthe Board recommendation to enter into a Brand Licence Agreement with Ooredoo IP LLC, a related party. As a result, the company will change its brand from Nawras to Ooredoo, as one of the global operators using the Ooredoo brand.

Chairman, Sayyid Amjad Mohammed Al Busaidi, said, “This is an exciting time and a strategic step forward for our Company. With this rebrand, we will continue our commitment to continuing to provide the best value and offers to our customers as well as continuing to invest in the best available technology. The change reflects the global strength of the Ooredoo group and enables us to share the latest products and practices with our customers and reinforces our passion for supporting His Majesty’s Vision2020 for supporting growth and development of local businesses and youth within the Sultanate.”

The date for the rebrand will be announced in due course.
