New NEC Express 5800/R320e series now available across EMEA
Hilversum, 2 November 2015 – NEC today announced that its new Express5800/R320e dual-socket Fault Tolerant servers are now available across EMEA.Developed with Intel’s latest version Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, the new R320e series takes the NEC range of FT servers – with its fully redundant modular hardware design and high-performant processors – to an impressive new level of availability, affordability and operational simplicity.
The Express5800/R320e series includes two types of Fault Tolerant servers:
· The NEC Express5800/R320e-E4 providing an entry-level offering
· The NEC Express5800/R320e-M4 providing a mid-range offering

Core Component in Smart Enterprise Framework
Fault Tolerant Servers are the business continuity component in NEC’s Smart Enterprise Solutions Framework, a unique offering that brings together key IT & Communications technologies, applications and media endpoints with an extremely high level of integration and performance. Faster Processing and Extended Memory for Better Performance
The new series is equipped with advanced performance technology including external storage systems and enhanced memory capacity (512 GB versus its predecessor’s 256 GB). Also the applied DDR4 memory type (DDR4-1866 ECC RDIMM, DDR4-1866 ECC LRDIMM) is further advanced as compared to its predecessor’s DDR3L-1600 DIMM with ECC, x4 SDDC, enabling a massive 20% increase in the number of virtual machines that can run on a single server, reducing not only floor space but also operating costs.
The new R320e-M4 model is equipped with a 12-core Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2670 v3 CPU that provides 20% better processing performance compared to that of its predecessor (with 4-10 cores).
High Temperature Operations
With its new optimized cooling design, the new series NEC Fault Tolerant servers can operate smoothly in extremely high temperature conditions of up to 40 degree Celsius. Users benefit immensely as they can operate their organization’s data centres at much higher temperatures, thereby saving considerably on air conditioning operating costs (energy and maintenance) and contributing to a green environment.
Cutting-edge Back-up
NEC’s new fault tolerant servers are specially designed for customers who need to eliminate both planned and unplanned downtime for the most critical applications.The R320e models are equipped with latest USB3.0 ports to support the Removable Disk Exchange system (RDX) for backup (a new feature not previously available). Users now have the choice between RDX media or conventional tape media, tobest suit their specific needs.
