NetCracker Announces Results of 2010 Global Service Provider Survey at Management World Americas

Survey Covers 50+ Leading Operators and Their Assessment of Challenges, Opportunities, and Investments as They Head Into 2011

ORLANDO, FL — November 9, 2010 — NetCracker Technology announced today the results of an industry survey that it conducted in conjunction with Pipeline Magazine. The survey — covering more than 50 leading communications service providers — was intended to obtain real-time information on the most significant issues facing service providers today. The questions focused on opportunities, challenges, and investment areas over the next three years.

Survey respondents consisted of Fixed, Mobile, Cable, and Converged service providers representing all major regions of the world. “It is our goal at NetCracker to be continually engaged with the industry and our customers on key issues and hot topics. This type of analysis helps identify and validate important issues facing service providers, and provides valuable information to assess emerging trends and directions,” said Sanjay Mewada, NetCracker’s Vice President of Strategy.

In particular, NetCracker was pleased to validate the importance of Mobile Commerce and Home Networking as two issues that have become increasingly important to service providers. At the Management World 2010 event in Orlando this week, NetCracker will be showcasing both Mobile Innovations and Home Networking solutions at its booth (#24).

Key Findings

Highlights from the survey include the following:

· Nearly 70% of respondents were Converged service providers (mobile + fixed), followed by Wireline providers (13.2%) and Mobile operators (7.5%).

· More than 55% said they viewed their top growth areas to be Multi-Play Services to the Home (55.2%) followed by Mobile Money and Commerce (52%) and Mobile Video (46.7%).

· When asked what their companies see as the Top 3 Competitive Threats, “New Infrastructure Providers” topped the list at 56.8%, followed by Applications Service Providers and Handset Manufacturers.

· Service providers identified the following as their Top 3 Priorities over the next 12 months:

Accelerating Network Convergence

Reducing Costs Through Systems and Supplier Consolidation

Reducing Costs Through Managed Services/Outsourcing of Networks and Services

Telepak Networks Selects NetCracker’s TOMS Solution to Accelerate Rollout of Next-Gen Converged Infrastructure

WALTHAM, MA — November 9, 2010 — NetCracker Technology announced today that Telepak Networks has selected its Telecommunications & Operations Management Solution (TOMS) to accelerate the deployment of its next-generation network and service infrastructure. With more than 1,780 miles of fiber optic cable, Telepak Networks is a full service provider of broadband, telecom, and network services to business and residential customers in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida.

Telepak Networks is in growth mode, rapidly upgrading and expanding its network and rolling out new services. One key focus of Telepak’s current initiative is adding new converged infrastructure while driving operational efficiency through optimization of existing assets. NetCracker’s TOMS Solution will enable Telepak Networks to optimize resource planning and speed up network and service rollout.

The TOMS Solution will cover Telepak Networks’ entire infrastructure including outside plant, mobile backhaul, and FTTH. It will enable Telepak to better track and reconcile its infrastructure assets, resulting in improved asset management including capacity management.
