NetCracker’s Solution Delivery Division Receives
CMMI Level 5 Appraisal

NetCracker Attains Highest Possible Rating in CMMI Model

WALTHAM, MA — November 01, 2011 — NetCracker Technology announced today that its Solution Delivery Division has received the highest rating in Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CMMI model. CMMI Level 5 is a prestigious appraisal that confirms NetCracker’s industry-leading project management, product integration, and process management capabilities.

The CMMI model is an internationally recognized measure of an organization’s process management maturity. The rating model enables organizations to link management and engineering best practices to business objectives while providing a framework for continuous improvement in management, product development, and delivery.

CMMI reference publication, CMMI for Development, Version 1.3, states that “Maturity Level 5 focuses on continually improving process performance through incremental and innovative process and technological improvements. The organization’s quality and process performance objectives are established, continually revised to reflect changing business objectives and organizational performance, and used as criteria in managing process improvement.”

In 2007, NetCracker received Carnegie Mellon’s CMMI Software Engineering Maturity Level 3. NetCracker’s Level 5 rating builds on the strengths of Level 3 and was awarded after an intensive appraisal involving analysis and review of engineering, development, and management processes and products. CMMI Level 5 confirms NetCracker’s use of standardized, best practices to improve the development of products and services. Process standardization reduces time, effort, rework, and defects, thereby reducing product, production, delivery, and support costs while improving product features and quality — and ultimately — customer satisfaction.

“Commitment to quality is a fundamental part of our mission,” said Dr. Michael Feinberg, NetCracker’s CTO. “To maintain our position as an industry leader we, as an organization, promote rigorous quality standards in our solutions and processes. It’s our way of ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness while delivering the highest possible value to our customers around the world.”
