New AT4 wireless solution, based on InterSystems Ensemble, sends clinical information from a patient’s home to their medical care centre

iBox CEc, based on InterSystems Ensemble^®, implements IHE profiles and HL7 messaging standards defined by Continua Health Alliance to facilitate interoperability

Madrid, 24^th May, 2011.- The solution developed by AT4 wireless, iBox Continua Ensemble Connector (iBox CEc), uses a wireless platform to collect medical parameters such as a patient’s blood pressure or glucose levels in their own home and sends the information direct to the patient’s medical centre for monitoring. Controlling the collection and delivery of medical parameters improves continuous remote patient monitoring and results in better quality health care.

iBox CEc uses the rapid integration and application development platform, InterSystems Ensemble, and the WAN interface, defined by the international industry standards organization Continua Health Alliance for the communication and integration of wireless medical devices.

iBox CEc is installed in tactile terminals located at the patient’s home. These terminals are connected to medical devices by Bluetooth and send the obtained measurements to the patient’s telemedicine platform, in a secure way, using web services via the patient’s home Internet connection.

Ensemble provides great flexibility to iBox CEc, facilitating its interoperability with other applications, such as an Electronic Medical Record system, by handling and processing the information received straight from the patient’s home.
