New Call Telecom targets diverse new customer base as it acquires Value Call from TalkTalk Telecom Group Plc

London, 6 July 2011: New Call Telecom is pleased to announce the acquisition of certain assets of Value Call from TalkTalk Telecom Group Plc. The assets comprise the International Instant Dial Around services trading under the brands Just Dial, Rate Buster and Topup2talk. In the year ended 31 March 2011, the Value Call business being acquired generated revenue of £3.8m.

The acquisition is part of New Call Telecom’s strategy to reach in excess of 250,000 new subscribers over the next five years. It plans to achieve this through organic growth and further targeted acquisitions, much of this through its award winning Primus Saver, home phone and broadband proposition.

Value Call customers will be able to benefit from the same innovative technology behind New Call’s Instant Dial service Planet Talk. It includes an innovative smartphone app that allows users to make calls easily from their mobile phone. Customers will be also offered New Call’s, Primus Saver, low-cost home landline and high-speed broadband services, which consistently feature top on the majority of price comparison sites in the UK.

Speaking about the announcement, Nigel Eastwood CEO of New Call comments: “Here at New Call we deliver great value, easy to understand, no nonsense discounts to consumers through all our brands, supported with superb customer service. This acquisition complements and strengthens our market-leading Planet Talk suite of products, giving us greater reach with customers dialling from the UK into Australia, New Zealand and Eastern Europe.”

“The acquisition also delivers New Call a great opportunity to sell our award winning, fixed line and broadband Primus Saver services to a large group of loyal customers. As Value Call operates on the same platform as Planet Talk, the New Call board believes this will enable an efficient integration into the existing New Call systems.”

New Call aims to target customers wishing to switch providers with their Primus Saver cheapest home phone/broadband bundle, and put an end to unpopular hidden charges seen from other providers, such as a big one off charge to move. For those customers with BT for landline the company offers comparative savings of around 50% on line rental.

About New Call Telecom:

Primus Home Phone Saver: keep existing number and services; Primus handles line instead of BT; free Voicemail service; free evening and weekend calls to UK landlines (01,02 and 03); free itemised monthly e-bill; excellent customer service.

Primus has been named by national papers as having the “best current deals” and the “cheapest line rental” in the UK market and recommended by the Guardian Money as a “best-buy” service.
