NG Bailey’s IT Services Division Raises the Bar in Wi-Fi Network Design with Ekahau Certification

21 July 2015 – NG Bailey’s IT Services division now boasts more Ekahau-certified Wi-Fi network engineers than any other organisation in the UK, after nine of its team achieved the wireless network specialist’s coveted Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer (ECSE) qualification. NG Bailey’s specialists join just eight other certified individuals in the UK and 250 globally.

The accreditation confirms NG Bailey as having fulfilled the training requirements to design, deploy and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks using Ekahau’s specialist range of tools. Ekahau Site Survey (ESS), a key component in Ekahau’s suite of testing, planning and maintenance tools, allows Ekahau-certified engineers to simulate the coverage and capacity of a proposed Wi-Fi network. ESS makes it possible for engineers to implement network adjustments and reconfigurations in order to optimise performance prior to assembly, saving organisations both time and money further down the line.

Indi Sall, technical director for NG Bailey’s IT Services division comments: “With bring your own device and remote access initiatives gaining real traction, understanding how Wi-Fi capacity and performance can be maximised is now critical. The ideal office of the future will be flexible and adaptable to the way people want to work. This means the supporting wireless infrastructure must operate at peak performance from day one. The Ekahau certification validates our technical leadership in this area, from initial network design to routine maintenance, we have the skills to identify and overcome connectivity issues before they become problematic.”

Ben Hasselblatt, head of global sales, Wi-Fi tools at Ekahau concludes: “Following this certification, NG Bailey is now equipped to master any Wi-Fi design project, be it an intricate office environment or major stadium complex. We look with interest to see how the team at NG Bailey utilises the advanced qualification to help other organisations achieve their goals.”

ESS is a Wi-Fi tool kit used by tens of thousands of Wi-Fi engineers globally. It helps design the wireless network by simulating the environment in three dimensions, as well as validating and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks.

The training was facilitated by NG Bailey’s partner Open Reality, a distributor of network analysis, test and infrastructure management solutions. Open Reality is the only UK partner for Ekahau. The three-day ECSE course, was delivered by Keith Parsons, managing director at WLAN Professionals and one of the world’s leading experts in Wi-Fi design.

This certification is one part of NG Bailey’s broader business investment of £3m per year on training and development programmes. Due to a robust training and certification programme provided by Ekahau, NG Bailey’s technical expertise has been developed and additional training is planned for future months in order to extend its technical leadership in Wi-Fi design.
