Northrop Grumman Provides Insights into the Vital Capabilities for Future Defence and Security

LONDON, May 7, 2015 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has published the final two articles and a video interview in its series providing insights into some of the key challenges for national defence and security in the UK and the capabilities that will be vital for the future.

In Are We Ready for F-35? Andrew Tyler, Northrop Grumman’s chief executive for Europe examines the importance of networking F-35 into the battlespace so that its stealth potential can be fully exploited: “One of the F-35’s advantages is its stealth characteristic – the ability to operate in places that other aircraft possibly can’t – and this is only part of what gives the F-35 its air dominance capability. Focusing on building the network into which it must integrate will enable the full potential that this incredible aircraft has to offer to be realised.”

The final article, Fighting Tomorrow’s War – Thinking About Effect discusses the need for new thinking to keep ahead of the rapidly changing threat environment: “In the future we will need to think more about the effect we are trying to achieve. This will liberate us from considering only solutions based on current capabilities and will allow the new generation of technologies in areas such as unmanned systems, advanced sensors, and data processing to be used to redefine the solution.”
