Nuage Networks introduces 2nd generation SDN solution for datacenter networks, accelerating the move to business cloud services
Nuage Networks, a new software defined networking (SDN) venture funded by Alcatel-Lucent announced today it is solving a critical datacenter network challenge for service providers, large internet-based companies and webscale companies, so they can scale cloud services to provide instant, secure connectivity to multiple customers. The company is launching a software-based Virtual Services Platform that works with all virtualized network equipment to connect public, private and hybrid datacenters within a highly programmable network fabric that rapidly delivers cloud services at the lowest cost. Beginning in April, customer trials include UK cloud service provider Exponential-e, French telecoms service provider SFR, Canadian telecoms service provider TELUS and leading US healthcare provider, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
Nuage Network’s Virtualized Services Platform automates the datacenter network to instantaneously adapt to the requirements of services and dynamic user demand. It makes the datacenter network as flexible and consumable as today’s compute and storage resources it interconnects to provide the next generation of SDN and cloud.
