Object Matrix to Showcase Matrixstore
and Vision Updates at NAB Show 2022

by Anthony Weaver
Cardiff, Wales, UK, 22nd April 2022 – Object Matrix will share the latest enhancements and updates to its Matrixstore and Vision solutions, alongside its US partner network at NAB. New features include timecode metadata, scaled storage performance, auditing, and security enhancements, as well as integrations with Okta, Signiant Media Shuttle and Telestream.

Timecode metadata functionality has recently been added to the Object Matrix web-based media and metadata management application, Vision. This will enable project teams to add comments to video assets, improving operational efficiencies and productivity by centralising feedback. Clips can be associated with timecode metadata either manually or imported with supported caption formats. Vision users will also benefit from integration with Signiant Media Shuttle’s file acceleration technology, for file transfers up to 100 times faster than FTP.

Digital Content Governance and security for both MatrixStore and Vision has been upgraded. MatrixStore now offers enhanced auditing capabilities, allowing administrators to track which users have accessed specific files. This includes file names and information about the parent and hierarchy when audits are enabled and exported from a content vault. Security protocols for Vision have been upgraded to include two-factor authentication, to reduce the risks associated with phishing. Single-sign capabilities via Okta, a leading provider of cloud SSO solutions, have been added to provide one central place to view, manage, and securely access content.

For larger archive deployments, Matrixstore S3connect can now be load balanced, providing improved performance and redundancy. Instead of using a single S3 hub, which can create a performance bottleneck or single point of failure, a load balance can now be placed in front of multiple hubs. A technical partnership between Telestream and Object Matrix also provides extended S3 capabilities, with a new integration to modernise archiving to the cloud via S3connect.

Jonathan Morgan, CEO, Object Matrix, commented: “These new features will support user requirements for improved security, automation, and orchestration. From making media fully searchable and accelerating access, to adding an extra layer of protection for content and understanding the actions made to assets. Object Matrix is committed to delivering the enhancements and integrations that help bridge the gap between creatives and content.”
