Omnitron CE2.0 Certified NIDs Support 8032 Ring Protection and 1588 Synchronization
COMPTEL Plus, Las Vegas, NV – March 10, 2013 – Omnitron Systems Technology, (www.omnitron-systems.com) today announced the launch of new and enhanced five-port iConverter GM4 Network Interface Devices (NID) with G.8032v2 ring protection and 1588v2 synchronization. The GM4 can be deployed as a demarcation device at a cell tower, multi-tenant customer premises or as an aggregation device at a hub location.
The iConverter GM4 features G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and hardware-based fault detection OAM with sub-50ms failover. The GM4 supports multiple rings and a sub-ring Ethernet service protection for metro and mobile backhaul networks. The GM4 also features 1588v2 synchronization that enables delivery of highly accurate time and frequency information over the packet network.

The iConverter GM4 feature set includes advanced classification and filtering of subscriber Layer 2, 3 and 4 traffic as an EVC or Class of Service (CoS) flow. Service testing and SLA assurance are performed with nanosecond resolution for delay-sensitive voice and financial services.
The iConverter GM4 NIDs are deployed worldwide to optimize CE 2.0 service delivery. Support for Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) enables rapid service deployments while reducing service providers OPEX. Built-in Y.1564 and RFC 2544 service testing remotely validates SLA metrics saving the cost of truck rolls and test equipment. ITU-T Y.1731 Performance Monitoring measures a variety of service parameters to ensure Quality of Service, and IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management provides instant fault notification and tools to facilitate remote fault isolation and troubleshooting for 99.999% service reliability.
