August 5th 2010, Paris: OneAccess, the European leader in multi-service access routers, has today announced the release of SBC Nano®, an advanced feature set enabling fixed line operators, mobile operators and ISPs to interoperate and manage SIP-based calls between their network and customer premise equipment, without impacting core network session border controllers (SBCs). Available as a software option for several OneAccess ONE Series routers, the ONE SBC Nano provides SIP signalling resolution, SIP proxy and SBC capabilities for SIP based PBXs and phones, ensuring trouble free operation of SIP Centrex and SIP Trunking services to small and mid-sized offices of up to 300 desks.

Moreover, SBC Nano counters the thorny issue of interoperability between SIP based PBXs, SIP phones and the service provider core SIP network, allowing operators to offer and support the broadest possible range of technology.”
With its outstanding capacity to achieve long-term cost savings, the SBC Nano is a perfect solution for driving greater margins on SIP based services, but also opens the door to new revenue opportunities. In SIP Centrex scenarios for instance, it enables service providers to offer on-premise ‘Dial Tone Continuity’ for SIP based business services, by automatically detecting network failure and assuming local call control functions. Internal on-site calls can be made and outbound/inbound calls can be delivered via alternative ISDN and analog voice trunks on OneAccess routers. Once the trunk network is restored, the SBC Nano hands back control to the service provider’s network.
The SBC Nano also combines a comprehensive range of network interconnection, caller, session and IP security features. Not only does it act as a border between customer premise and service provider networks, hiding the network topology between IP networks, the SBC Nano also securely manages SIP sessions, NAT translation and firewall transversal, and SIP phone registration.
The SBC Nano is available now as a software option onboard the OneAccess ONE100D, ONE150, ONE270 and ONE700 multi service access routers.
