Online Consulting Company Selects Convergys Smart BSS Solutions to Drive Growth

(Cincinnati; August 12, 2010) – Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, announced today that an online interactive consulting company has signed a three-year contract for Convergys’ Smart BSS Solutions. This new client is an innovative online business services destination, community, and marketplace where individuals can chat live with thousands of consultants in a broad range of categories such as health, technology, business, arts, and spirituality.

This new client is utilizing Convergys’ Rating and Billing Manager to handle its overall revenue management, online charging, and settlement for its wide range of B2C and B2B online services.

When a customer begins a chat session with any of the online subject matter experts, such as a tax consultant helping with tax returns, for example, the Convergys solution accurately calculates in real-time the fees billable to the customer based on the duration of the chat, while also providing real-time sales promotions targeted specifically to each online visitor. This solution also calculates and collects the settlement transactions that derive from such chat conversations, including payment to the consultant and the relevant participating affiliates.

Leading companies in a wide range of fields use Convergys Rating and Billing Manager for their real-time charging initiatives. However, the contract announced today marks the first time an online consulting firm has implemented this type of billing solution for its business, highlighting the flexibility of the solution to meet the demands of complex real-time billing across multiple industries and multiple vertical markets.
