Ooredoo and Paris-Saint Germain Deliver World-Class Training to Talented Local Footballers

Last weekend Ooredoo teamed-up with Paris-Saint Germain to give local communities’ budding football stars the chance to learn from world-class sports coaches. Some of France’s finest footballing trainers flew to Oman to deliver the training at the Sultan School’s playing grounds to 200 lucky participants, who were selected from a social media competition, local football clubs, special VIPsand the Ooredoo family.

Qasim Bin Mohammad Al Barwani, student at the academy said: “I learned a lot from the training at the academy and I appreciated every minute spent with the coaches. I especially enjoyed the match session and the training on how to juggle the ball. I would like to thank Ooredoo for this great opportunity and I am looking forward to being enrolled in future similar academies.”

The Academy forms part of Ooredoo and Paris Saint-Germain’s approach to encourage healthy lifestyles and support young peoples’ ambitions and aspirations. The clinics provided the Omani youth an opportunity to showcase their talent to the world, whilst empowering each individual and the collective with the values of teamwork, discipline and commitment.

Ooredoo supports a variety of events and initiatives to drive human growth through physical activities, including cricket and football, as well as generating partnerships with local businesses, sports clubs and gymnasiums to promote a greater awareness of health and wellbeing.
