Ooredoo Brings Online 4G Coverage in more than 70 New Locations

Muscat, Oman

Ooredoo’s 4G upgrades in each of the Sultanate’s governorates has at over 70 new locations to its network, allowing even more customers to enjoy the internet. The new sites take the total number of areas added to the company’s extensive grid to more than 570 as part of its plan to transform digital experiences through the creation of a Supernet; 4G covering 90% of Oman’s population. The upgrades will now allow residents and entrepreneurs to experience incredible high-speed internet in even more parts of Muscat, Dhofar, and Ad Dakhiliyah among others.

The network upgrades have include the addition of 20 sites in the Batinah, 10 in Al Sharqiyah, and 10 in Muscat with the remainder extending to every governorate of the Sultanate. This will allow visitors to Oman seamless connectivity when exploring major landmarks such as Al Hazm castle and Wadi Bani Khalid, allowing them to share their experiences with loved ones around the world.

Ooredoo’s unprecedented expansion plan is to transform the Sultanate’s digital landscape. The project is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2018 and will add a total of 1,000 locations to the company’s grid. The campaign promises to provide a number of incredible benefits to residents, tourists, and businesses in Oman by creating a platform for greater, faster, and more stable connectivity to boost socio-economic growth.
