Ooredoo Empowers over 500 Omanis through Specialised Spring and Summer Development Courses

Muscat, Oman

Ooredoo recently announced the completion of its Spring and Summer training courses, organised as part of their continued collaboration with government and higher education institutions across the country. Divided into three programmes comprising development of talented government employees and two seasonal internships, Ooredoo has, to date, successfully enhanced the skillsets of more than over 500 trainees through professional growth modules.

Government employees from a variety of different Ministries and promising young students were equipped with skills in critical thinking, data analysis, communication, problem solving, technical business writing, time management, and teamwork. Each trainee was schooled across multiple focus areas, allowing them to interact with and learn from employees in a wide range of departments.

Kumail Al Moosawi, Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer said, “Training young Omanis to become the leaders of tomorrow is essential to the Sultanate’s long-term success, which is why we developed tailored programmes designed to help them obtain the skills they need to fully harness their potential. This initiative is a translation of our belief that socio-economic growth is best achieved by building human capacities and championing the important future of our youth. Our trainees, who came from a wide variety of professional and educational backgrounds, are now equipped with the technical skills and expertise required to boost their career development.”

Priding itself for being an employer of choice for Omanis, Ooredoo has launched a number of key initiatives over the years aimed at developing the skillsets and employability of the Sultanate’s most promising talent. Those initiatives include the Springboard Programme, organised in partnership with the British Council, as well as a project for undergraduate students held in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University.
