Ooredoo Oman Wins during the 14th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business

Doing more to empower women across the Sultanate, Ooredoo has won a Silver Stevie Award in the ‘Community involvement Program of the Year’ category for its pioneering Mussanah incubator programme. Ooredoo’s initiative won the accolade during the 14th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business for using its incubator as a catalyst for gender equality and promoting entrepreneurship in local communities. The Mussanah incubator has provided a total of 145 women with essential skills training in a wide range of disciplines including Information Technology, beauty, cookery and other vocational disciplines designed to enhance their skills and help them on the road to setting up their own businesses in the future.

Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “The empowerment of women is integral to harnessing the Sultanate’s full socio-economic potential and ensuring the long-term success of the communities we serve. Our dedication to developing human capabilities has continued to be a mainstay in our Corporate Social Responsibility; led by incubator programmes such as this and all part of our CSR platform, ‘Goodwill’. Through these incubators, we have managed to equip women from all walks of life with the skills they need to thrive and become the SoHos and SMEs of the future.”

The accolade joins a longlist of awards won by the company over the past calendar year, with each milestone highlighting the company’s dedication to excellence. This includes receiving the Gold Stevie Award during 14th Annual International Business Awards for its redesigned app, Best Digital Experience at the Customer Experience Management in Telecoms Awards, and being named the ‘Most Customer Friendly Telecom Provider’ by the International Finance Magazine Award, among others.
