Opsview Enterprise V4 delivers next-generation IT monitoring with data visualisation and enhanced dashboard capabilities

Opsview provides organisations with a highly-customisable and scalable IT monitoring solution at an affordable price

READING, UK. April 24, 2012 – Opsview, the IT monitoring software provider, today announced the launch of Opsview Enterprise V4 designed to help organisations more effectively monitor and improve the performance of their increasingly complex IT infrastructures. Opsview Enterprise V4 combines the latest data visualisation and dashboard technology to provide organisations with a highly-visual and scalable platform to monitor their physical, virtual and hybrid cloud environments. Opsview uses an ‘open core’ licensing model, so that its customers benefit from enterprise-grade IT monitoring capabilities without the high costs associated with legacy, proprietary solutions.

Featuring a new and improved web user interface, Opsview Enterprise V4 takes all of an organisation’s complex monitoring data and presents it in a format that both IT and business users can use. The new data visualisation capabilities of Opsview Enterprise V4 offer greater levels of customisation making it much easier for users to identify and diagnose system incidents.

As part of the new Opsview V4 product family, Opsview Pro is also launched today to provide SMEs with a packaged monitoring suite, including the new dashboard, for a low entry-level price. The existing Opsview Community edition is now called Opsview Core and features an updated user interface and numerous other improvements.

“We have completely re-engineered Opsview to provide users with a more consistent and user-friendly experience. With more than 30 major enhancements in this new release, organisations will now be able to identify, diagnose and fix systems incidents with even greater accuracy and speed,” said Michael Walton, CEO at Opsview. “Opsview Enterprise V4 puts the user in control as they can configure the solution to meet their specific monitoring needs. Our new data visualisation and dashboard capabilities make it easier than ever before for organisations to create a ‘single pane of glass’ view of their IT environment. Through enhanced levels of customisation, IT departments can now get the performance insight they need without having to sift through unnecessary information.”

Opsview Enterprise V4 will also appeal to managed service providers (MSPs) who require a multi-tenanted IT monitoring solution to ensure that they are adhering to their customers’ service level agreements (SLAs). The dashboard and reporting functionality of Opsview Enterprise V4 provides MSPs with all the necessary tools to quickly access and display business data and trend analysis for SLA reporting. For those MSPs looking to extend value to their customers, Opsview Enterprise V4 is available as a white-labelled solution, enabling MSPs to offer their own branded monitoring services,  allowing their end customers to directly monitor the performance of the cloud services being delivered to them.

Core features of Opsview Enterprise 4.0 include distributed monitoring, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap processing, data warehousing and slave server clustering.  Customers are also able to purchase additional enterprise options including network auditing, service desk connector, SMS messaging and automated deployment (Syncmaster) functionality to tailor their Opsview solution to meet their monitoring requirements.

“By providing three distinct products, we are meeting the needs of SMEs that have below 100 devices all the way through to large multi-national enterprises that need to monitor thousands of systems. Our move to an open core business model means we can continue to leverage the cost and development benefits of the open-source world while at the same time offer a trusted, professionally supported, enterprise-grade monitoring solution to SME, enterprise and MSP customers. By having a mature code base and predictable release cycle, customers will be able to more effectively plan their upgrades which is imperative as organisations look to monitor all their business-critical IT systems,” added Michael Walton.

Opsview Pro can be purchased directly from the Opsview web store for £1,495 (€1,995 / $2,495) per year.  Full details of the new Opsview product range and pricing can be found at www.opsview.com
