Peter Riedel is new member of the Rohde & Schwarz Executive Board
Effective July 1, 2014, Peter Riedel joins the Rohde & Schwarz Executive Board. Riedel has been with the company for almost 25 years. His most recent position was Head of the Radiomonitoring and Radiolocation Division. He succeeds Gerhard Geier who has retired.
Munich, June 30, 2014 — As the third member of the Executive Board, alongside President and CEO Manfred Fleischmann and President and COO Christian Leicher, Riedel will be responsible for the four operational divisions: Test and Measurement, Broadcasting, Secure Communications, and Radiomonitoring and Radiolocation. Riedel will also be responsible for the Rohde & Schwarz subsidiary R&S Asia.
Riedel joined the company in 1991 as a development engineer in the Test and Measurement Division and soon became a lab manager. In 2005, he took over as Director of R&D in the Radiomonitoring and Radiolocation Division. In 2010, he assumed responsibility for the entire division. Riedel states, “Rohde & Schwarz has built up a strong foundation with its four divisions. My goal is to work together with my colleagues to ensure the continued success of the company.”
His predecessor, Gerhard Geier, contributed significantly to the company’s success for almost five decades. Before joining the Executive Board in 2010, Mr. Geier was Division Head for 16 years.
Effective July 1, Dietmar Vahldiek succeeds Riedel as Head of the Radiomonitoring and Radiolocation Division. He previously headed the Systems and Projects Subdivision in the Test and Measurement Division and has been with the company for 25 years.
