Peter-Service provides Geocell with its billing solution
St. Petersburg, Russia – Peter-Service was picked by Geocell, a Georgian mobile operator – part of the international group, Telia Company, to deliver a billing solution. The project started in 2016 when the operator’s postpaid subscribers were migrated to the new system. Since January 2017, all of Geocell’s postpaid charging and billing processes have been handled by Peter-Service software products.

Billing system is one of the core solutions, which enables the company to run the flawless operations in order to provide the above-mentioned experience of the best customer service. Company runs separate billing systems for prepaid and postpaid subscribers. With the partnership of Peter Service Geocell made migration from the former postpaid billing system to a new one.
According to Mete Arig, CTO at Geocell, the current project had been one of the complex and difficult ones, considering its scale and time constraints. “Indeed we call it a success. Thanks to the winning combo of competent staff and the right partner – Peter-Service, we managed to achieve positive results”, he says.
Since the beginning of 2017, all of Geocell’s postpaid subscribers have been served by the solution delivered by Peter-Service. The new system from Peter-Service offers a broad array of advanced features and capabilities that are in demand in today’s market: billing is run online; all program components are based on a modular architecture; the system is ready to accommodate frequent changes of any scale to fit the operator’s goals. In 2017, Peter-Service is planning to upgrade the interfaces and some other components of the solution in order to facilitate subscriber management through improved transparency and performance.
“Working on a very tight schedule, we carried out the project in just 8 months. Such a quick transformation would not have been possible without Peter-Service’s solid experience in BSS replacement projects and the combined tireless efforts of the two teams – the team from Peter-Service and the operator’s team. We managed not only to keep every bit of the functionality that Geocell had developed over 15 years but also to add new features that would enable the operator to introduce long overdue changes. Peter-Service considers BSS transformation a strategic priority, and we are going to put a stronger focus on it in 2017 as we feel a genuine interest from operators in the markets we are working in,” noted Sergey Tverdokhlebov, Sales Director at Peter-Service.
