Deutsche Telekom to resell PGi’s iMeet in Germany

LONDON – March 6, 2012 PGi (NYSE: PGI), a global leader in virtual meetings, today announced a new, multi-year strategic alliance with Deutsche Telekom – naming the Bonn, Germany-based integrated telecommunications company as the exclusive reseller of PGi’s innovative iMeet video conferencing solution in Germany.  As part of this multi-million dollar agreement, Deutsche Telekom will host iMeet in its data centers in Germany, and it will soon make iMeet available to subscribers in the Business Marketplace in the Deutsche Telekom Cloud Center.  Deutsche Telekom plans to initially offer iMeet to Germany’s small business community beginning this summer and will expand to the German enterprise and consumer markets later this year.

“We are delighted to announce our new strategic agreement with Deutsche Telekom,” said John Stone, PGi EVP Europe & Managing Director. “A key focus for PGi in 2012 is on developing distribution channels for iMeet in Europe. Our alliance with Deutsche Telekom is a natural fit, as they are very enthusiastic adopters of new and innovative technologies, and we share a core mission to provide customers with solutions that help them collaborate in more meaningful, productive ways.”

Launched in 2011, iMeet is PGi’s next-generation, web-based video conferencing solution that enables up to 15 people to meet face-to-face online – anywhere, anytime, from their desktop, tablet or mobile device.  iMeet gives users their own personal meeting room online that combines video conferencing and audio conferencing with social networking and file sharing.  iMeet was designed to bring a simple, human and enjoyable experience to online meetings.

“Through this strategic alliance, we are aiming to solve a major need in the German marketplace – especially among the country’s small business community – filling a void for an online meeting solution that is simple, personal and mobile with iMeet,” said Dirk Backofen, Senior Vice President Marketing Business Customers, Telekom Deutschland. “We look forward to building a strong business relationship with PGi in the years to come.”

“PGi’s aligning with Deutsche Telekom to bring iMeet to German businesses is important,” said Wainhouse Research analyst Marc Beattie.  “This community is hungry for a simpler way to connect with colleagues.  There are currently many services that look the same, and most have become extraordinarily complicated to use – iMeet is different. It is unique in its approach, easy to access, intuitive, fun and a highly productive way to bring teams of people together. The PGi-Deutsche Telekom alliance further validates that iMeet is an important, new collaboration service.”
