Philcomm Secures Deal to Provide Brisbane Colleges with GPS tracking system from Simoco

New system will automatically monitor vehicles and personnel across five campuses, improving safety for all staff and students

12 September 2013 – Simoco Channel Partner Philcomm has been awarded a contract to supply a GPS tracking system from Simoco to five college campuses across Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.

The contract includes the installation of Simoco’s Advanced Mobile Suite (SAMS), which has been fitted at the head office to monitor security, operations and administration staff and provide safety and security to over 25,000 students. The deal also includes the supply of 25 portable radios fitted with GPS-receiving microphones.

SAMS is a robust solution that enables automatic personnel and vehicle tracking via GPS over radio. The radios are connected to Philcomm’s wide-area MPT network, providing seamless coverage from all five of the campuses to the central control room.

Ian Carr, CEO of Simoco Group commented: “The safety of staff and students is paramount for the Brisbane colleges, and in order to effectively monitor the sites they needed absolute visibility of staff at all times. With our SAMS system, Brisbane college campuses now have the technology to seamlessly track and monitor staff over radio, ensuring better management in the event of an emergency.”

Jason Di Lizio, Systems Consultant of Philcomm said: “The customer wanted complete safety for staff and students by ensuring that the Chief Operations Officer could effectively locate members of staff in emergency or  critical situations. Philcomm and Simoco have an established history in providing quality, robust products, incident systems, and the SAMS system ensures reliable and resilient communication for mission-critical situations.”
