PIONEERING CLOUDXTREAM SOLUTION TAKES CENTRE STAGE FOR RGB NETWORKS AT ANGA COM 2014

Revenue-generating potential of the cloud made readily available to operators thanks to RGB

At ANGA COM 2014 (stand 10.1/V18) RGB Networks, the leading provider of the industry’s most scalable, unified solutions for multiscreen video delivery, will showcase its new CloudXtream initiative that helps operators take advantage of the cloud to maximise the revenue generating potential of their TV Everywhere services. With CloudXtream, essential multiscreen monetisation services like Ad Insertion for Multiscreen (AIM) and nDVR solutions can be seamlessly deployed, with minimal upfront capital costs or ongoing operational expenses.

In recent years content monetisation through targeted ad insertion has emerged as a critical piece of the multiscreen business puzzle. Indeed, recent statistics from Nielson confirm that advertising remains the primary revenue source for the TV industry; representing 57.6% of total global ad spend in the latter half of 2013. However, putting all the necessary technical components in place to bridge the gap between Multiscreen 1.0 and today’s high-quality multiscreen environments where all screens can (and should) be monetised has lead to a “catch-22” problem; cost. Understandably, many businesses are turning to the cloud as a strategic part of their long-term business’ plans.

Built on the infinitely scalable industry standard OpenStack framework, RGB’s CloudXtream initiative provides a new dimension in the deployment of video services – all over IP, geo-redundant, highly scalable and able to respond to elastic demand for transcoding, Just-in-Time Packaging (JITP), IP streaming, nDVR storage, and Ad Insertion. With the ability to integrate and deploy turnkey video applications out-of-the-box, on to bare metal servers or private and public clouds, RGB has designed a true best-of-breed solution that enables operators to realise the advantages of the cloud without locking them into costly proprietary solutions that quickly become obsolete.

“With our next-generation products for live, time-shifted and software-based delivery, VSPs can not only ensure they deliver premium quality audio and video to all IP devices but also actively monetise all screens,” said Andy Salo, VP of product management at RGB Networks. “We are particularly excited to be showcasing our innovative CloudXtream solutions which provide operators with a bona fide software-based approach to deploying services, without incurring any unanticipated or unnecessary costs that may hinder their rollout plans.”

On Tuesday, 20th May, Yuval Fisher CTO at RGB Networks will present a session in the Speakers’ Corner entitled ‘Deploying Cloud-Based Ad Insertion Using OpenStack’, 12 – 12.20pm.

Executives from RGB Networks will be available on stand 10.1/V18 throughout ANGA COM to answer questions and provide demonstrations of the unique advantages that RGB’s multiscreen IP video delivery and monetisation solutions can offer.
