Polaris Wireless announces record bookings in 2011; forecasts significant revenue increase in 2012

Global leader in high-accuracy, software-based wireless location solutions caps successful year with

business expansion to support growing demand

Mountain View, Calif. — January 25, 2012 — Polaris Wireless, the global leader in high-accuracy, software-based wireless location solutions, today announced it achieved a major increase in sales bookings in 2011, setting a company record and capping a successful year in which the Silicon Valley company achieved several significant milestones, including a year-over-year quadrupling of sales bookings and revenue increase of approximately 30%. This sales performance positions the company for a significant revenue increase in 2012 and 2013, driven by aggressive growth for Polaris Wireless location solutions across the globe.  More than twenty U.S. wireless carriers, six managed services partners, and fourteen international deployments now rely on Polaris Wireless location solutions to enable emergency call applications, lawful and mass location surveillance, and other location-based services.

“In 2011, with best-in-class, field proven products, Polaris Wireless accelerated its efforts at becoming the leading provider of high-accuracy wireless location solutions for mission critical applications,” said Manlio Allegra, president, CEO and co-founder of Polaris Wireless. “We have surpassed the competition and enlisted leading global companies as partners, providing a strong base from which we will continue growing in 2012 and beyond.”

Polaris Wireless achieved several significant milestones in 2011, including:

  • Several significant customer contracts, for multi-million dollar deployments of the Polaris Wireless Altus and OmniLocate location surveillance product suite. The deals represent a major increase in Polaris Wireless’ international business, in areas that are increasingly vital to the global efforts against crime and terrorism.
  • A strategic partnership with CanvasM Technologies, Tech Mahindra’s VAS subsidiary and part of the US $14.4 Billion Mahindra Group, to introduce the first high-accuracy, network based wireless location solution to the Indian market. This followed the successful completion of field trials with Indian wireless network operator Bharti Airtel to prove compliance with India’s Department Of Telecom (DoT) May 2011 mandate for location determination. The trials were conducted over a period of several weeks in Bangalore to demonstrate the effectiveness of Polaris WLS in urban, suburban, and indoor environments. Polaris Wireless is the only location solutions provider to exceed the DoT mandate in all categories.
  • Being named the recipient of the prestigious Frost & Sullivan “2011 Enabling Technology of the Year” award. The award recognizes Polaris Wireless’ accomplishments and leadership in developing location solutions for public safety, lawful location surveillance, and other location-based services.

“We look forward to announcing even more significant customer wins and new additions to the Polaris Wireless executive team in the coming months,” added Allegra. “Anyone seeking a high-accuracy wireless location solution should begin and end their search with Polaris Wireless.”

The easy to deploy, easy to maintain Polaris Wireless Location Signatures solution identifies the location of a wireless device to within 50 meters and delivers the best software-based location in dense urban and indoor environments, avoiding the costly and time-consuming maintenance associated with hardware-based location solutions.  Polaris Wireless also provides its customers regular product enhancements and updates, and 24/7 technical and operational support to better monitor and improve the performance of its solutions.  Polaris WLS is designed to scale as an operator’s network grows, providing location capabilities in 2G (GSM/CDMA), 3G (UMTS/WCDMA), and emerging 4G (LTE) air interfaces, as well as indoor technologies such as WiFi, DAS, and Femtocells.  Polaris Wireless ensures that an operator’s critical ability to accurately locate all wireless devices will evolve alongside its network evolution.
