Polaris Networks joins the Competitive Carriers Association; to Demonstrate its Small Scale Packet Core at the CCA Global Expo

Lexington, Massachusetts, April 2, 2013 – Polaris Networks today announced that it has joined the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) as an Associate Member.

Since its founding, CCA has grown to become the nation’s leading association for service providers and other stakeholders in the wireless ecosystem throughout the United States.

As a leading provider of Wireless Solutions, Polaris Networks has developed the NetEPC©. This combines the MME, SGW and PGW nodes of the 3GPP defined Evolved Packet Core in a single carrier class platform. The NetEPC© takes into consideration the specific needs of the smaller LTE Networks, that of Tier II and Tier III Operators. It is imperative that all carriers, irrespective of their size and geographic location continue to offer leading edge communication services to their subscribers. LTE, with it higher download speed and improved QoS, promises users a better mobile experience. However, from a smaller carrier’s perspective, this transition from the legacy network to LTE which requires setting up a new RAN and Core Network could be a challenging task, especially from the cost perspective. The low-cost, small form factor NetEPC© is ideally suited to meet these challenges.

“CCA, as an association has been instrumental in ensuring that all regional players in the telecommunications space get an equal opportunity to operate and ensure a healthy competition in the Wireless Market. Polaris Networks understands and is well equipped to meet the core network infrastructure challenges which the smaller carriers face while making the transition to providing LTE services. For us, associating ourselves with the CCA was a natural choice. CCA, with its regional carrier focus, will offer us the best platform through which we can interact and work with the regional carriers”, said Aditya Saraf, VP, Sales and Marketing at Polaris Networks.

“I am very glad to welcome Polaris Networks as a new member and am delighted they will be joining us in New Orleans for CCA’s 2013 Global Expo,” said CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry. “CCA’s associate members play an important role in the competitive carrier ecosystem, and Polaris Networks’ services offer carriers am opportunity to find solutions for LTE. Polaris Networks’ industry perspective will certainly be a valuable addition for CCA members, and I am delighted to welcome them on board.”

Apart from the NetEPC©, Polaris also has a range of Test and Measurement tools for LTE which are used by leading vendors for pre-deployment testing and evaluating the performance and stability of the network nodes.

Polaris will be demonstrating the NetEPC© as well as the LTE Test Solutions at the CCA Global Expo which is to be held in New Orleans from April 17-19.
