Preparatory meeting finalizes Report to 2012 World Radiocommunication Conference

Spectrum and orbital resources high on agenda for mobile broadband

Geneva, 25 February 2011- A variety of spectrum-related matters dealing with the future development of radiocommunications, enabling convergence and coordination of all radio services, were addressed by the Second Session of the Conference Preparatory Meeting (CPM11-2) for the 2012 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12). CPM11-2, which met for two weeks, concluded today with the adoption of the Report to WRC-12, focusing on technical, operational and regulatory materials to be considered by the Member States of the ITU in developing their proposals to the Conference.

More than 1100 participants from 109 ITU Member States and 69 Radiocommunication Sector Members attended the meeting.
