–News Agency Drives Transformation with App Recommendations and a COPE Device Policy
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, Jan. 8, 2015 – To keep pace with the demand for dynamic content, the Press Association (PA), UK’s leading multimedia news agency and digital content provider, outfitted its journalists with secure smartphones and tablets to collect and submit high-definition video and photos from out in the field. PA adopted a Corporate Owned Personally Enabled (COPE) mobile device strategy, which included secure mobile business apps, with the goal of increasing flexibility and efficiency when reporting outside of the office. COPE Strategy Drives Peace of Mind
PA implemented a Corporate Owned Personally Enabled (COPE) policy in which employees are free to use their corporate-issued devices for business and personal purposes. Using MobileIron Cloud, the IT organisation is able to support the COPE policy by separating business content from each employee’s personal emails and data.
“There’s no point in having our journalists carry around multiple devices for multiple purposes,” said Reed. “MobileIron helps us protect all of the content on our journalists’ phones and tablets, regardless of whether it is content for work or personal information. Transformation Through App Recommendations
As PA’s journalists report on major news stories across the UK, MobileIron Cloud provides the organisation’s IT leadership with the ability to proactively recommend any apps that could make their jobs easier. Journalists can then download the apps from a corporate app store powered by MobileIron Apps@Work. MobileIron helps enforce the organisational policy that employees may install only apps that are either in the company app store or approved by Google.
