Leading ICT Company Quintica signed a partnership in Nairobi ( 9 September 2010) with Kenya’s telecoms operator Safaricom to advance affordable communication solutions for its varied clients.
Quintica’s portfolio of hosted and managed services aims to benefit Safaricom’s data clients ranging from small, medium and large, businesses as well as homeowners. Speaking at the event, Quintica Group CEO, Charles Osburn said that the Group’s array of sophisticated integrated systems technologies, and service solution sets will further enhance the range of data services available to Safaricom customers. Honoured to be selected by Safaricom as their ICT services provider in Kenya he said, “Kenya’s fast-growing IT industry demands hosted services because it allows businesses to free up capacity, time and other resources, thus allowing them to concentrate on their core businesses with guaranteed back-up from a specialised operator.”
According to Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph its growing customer base coupled with increasing competition creates demands for new, high quality data services. “Quintica’s expertises as a hosting partner for our data and managed services gives our growing complement of corporate data customers much needed access to a number of services,” said Mr Joseph.
The partnership will narrow the gap between excellence in delivery and customer requirements by providing a number of specific services. These include hosted Microsoft Exchange E-mail, targeting small businesses without the need for dedicated technical staff. The benefit is one package providing all the features and functionality at a small fee. Utilising virtual machines, the hosted applications will target SMEs that don’t want to invest in servers and data centres. Another option includes dedicated managed servers tailored for customers who want to control their applications configuration and allocated server capacity without investing in servers and data centres. Customers without server space can also lease the space in a data centre environment under the managed co-location service thus enabling them to procure, install and maintain their own servers.
