ZTE Launches Power Line Communication Adapters for Smart Homes

ZXHN H51 Series Offers 500Mbps Connectivity and Wi-fi Support for Home Networks

19 February 2013, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, launched a new series of Power Line Communication adapters to meet demand for fast and convenient home networking.

The ZXHN H51 power line communication (PLC) series is compliant with the mainstream HomePlug AV and IEEE 1901 standards, and includes five models that cover the three main industry form factors: wall-mount, pass-through and hybrid Wi-Fi/PLC. The HomePlug AV was first proposed by HomePlug Alliance and was later included by the IEEE as part of the IEEE 1901 standard.

Users simply need to plug a ZXHN H51 product into a common power socket, and connect their portable devices to enjoy data rates of up to 500Mbps for home networks. The ZXHN H513B model also supports Wi-Fi connectivity. The powerful and convenient functionality of the ZXHN H51 removes the need for complex network cabling, and enhances the performance of wireless networks in homes. As a carrier-class product, the ZXHN H51 series delivers robust network performance, ensuring priority for triple-play traffic. It also offers an idle mode to reduce power consumption.

“The ZXHN H51 PLC product series enhances ZTE’s portfolio of home networking products, and strengthens our lineup of next-generation smart home solutions,” said Huang Fuzong, ZTE vice president for fixed-network products. “We will continue to offer a wide range of customised, environmentally-friendly and flexible home networking products to help our partners in the telecommunication industry increase the reach of their networks.”

ZTE’s home networking products currently cover three categories: PON ONTs, DSL and LAN CPEs and in-home networking devices. The company ranks No. 1 globally in both sales and shipments of customer-premise equipment (CPE), and holds top spot in market share for ONUs/ONTs products.
