| Skyline Communications, global leader in end-to-end multi-vendor network management solutions for the satellite, broadcast, IPTV and HFC broadband industries, announces a milestone contract with a major US broadcaster for the end-to-end management and full automation of their new generation satellite news contribution network. The new satellite platform connects close to 200 affiliates across the US and abroad for the exchange of both live video as well as file content. |
| DataMiner integrates and manages all video processing components across all sites, as well as the entire satellite IP network. Aside from fully consolidated status, fault and performance management of the entire ecosystem across all vendor and technology boundaries, DataMiner is also responsible for fully automated execution of all system workflows for the exchange of live video and file content. The latter is booked by the operator in their existing Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) platform. All bookings are ingested by DataMiner which then performs the required capacity and resource allocations, ensuring that all equipment is properly configured fully automatically at the time of transmission. |
| In addition to managing encoders and satellite modems, as well as interfacing with other products such as the operator’s enterprise video workflow and distribution platform, the solution also leverages the DataMiner Spectrum Analyzer module. This module integrates with any third party spectrum analyzer, and enables DataMiner to further enhance its workflows with visibility on satellite RF carriers. |
| Noteworthy is also the fact that all end-to-end workflows are designed in an open architecture design, enabling the operator to easily fine-tune and evolve them over time along with his evolving requirements.
