Meriden, CT, January 25 2022 – Radio Frequency Systems (RFS), a global designer and manufacturer of wireless and broadcast infrastructure, today announced the availability of three new HYBRIFLEX fiber and power connectivity solutions. Each addresses specific challenges and requirements in distributed radio system (DRS), active distributed antenna system (DAS), and small cells deployments, and is optimized for Radio over Fiber (RoF) applications enabling futureproof evolution.

RFS HYBRIFLEX solutions for buildings and campuses combine high-bandwidth optical fibers with enhanced wireless technologies to provide a fully converged communications network for all wired and wireless applications. The solutions support multi-operator wireless services up to 6 GHz, including those that use PMR, UHF, TETRA, wireless LAN, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave IoT, RFID, 5G and other wireless technologies.

The three new HYBRIFLEX solutions each tackle specific industry challenges:

– The plug-and-play connectivity solution features high-density Multiport Terminal (MPT) Multi-Fiber Push On (MPO) connectors that minimize the time and effort required to install and terminate large amounts of fiber in buildings. The solution is ideal for buildings that house data centers and other businesses with extremely high bandwidth requirements.

– The mission-critical connectivity solution uses a single hybrid cable and a single, uninterruptible power supply to deliver traditional Ethernet services as well as mission-critical wireless services. The solution provides the high reliability and power supply security needed to support mission-critical wireless applications that rely on connections to wireless access points, CCTV cameras, IP phones and other remote IoT devices.

– The conventional indoor/outdoor connectivity solution extends reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity and RoF application delivery within and between buildings on campuses of any size and complexity. The solution is ideal for deployments where high-density and mission-critical connectivity are not required.

“We understand how important it is to support the entire range of wired and wireless application requirements in buildings and campuses in a fast, easy and futureproof way,” says Jacqui Gallacher, Managing Director at RFS UK. “Our HYBRIFLEX solutions for active DAS, DRS and small cells deployments build on more than 120 years of cabling and connectivity expertise to meet requirements in all types of buildings and campus environments, from railway stations, airports and stadiums, to data centers, factories, warehouses, universities, offices and residential buildings of all sizes.”

RFS’ HYBRIFLEX cabling solutions for buildings and campus environments are supported with a full portfolio of terminated and unterminated cables, passive components and fiber management accessories. HYBRIFLEX mission-critical hybrid and conventional solutions allow fusion-splicing on site, while the plug-and-play solution features pre-connected assemblies that use Angled Physical Contact (APC) connectors to minimize back reflection and ensure very low losses.

The end-to-end HYBRIFLEX solutions are available through the company’s Assured Wireless Solution program. The program gives customers a complete, turnkey solution that includes building surveys as well as design, build, installation and assurance services for the installed network to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and provide complete peace of mind.
