RGB NETWORKS TO HIGHLIGHT ‘MULTISCREEN 2.0’ SOLUTIONS AT CSTB IN MOSCOW

Next Generation Solutions Streamline Operations and Reduce Cost of Delivering TV Everywhere and OTT Video Services

January, 27 2014 – At CSTB, RGB Networks, the leading provider of scalable multiscreen IP video delivery solutions, will highlight next-generation solutions that enable cable operators and other video service providers (VSPs) to efficiently deliver premium live and on-demand IP video services to multiple screens, while also enabling monetisation of these services.

As over-the-top (OTT) streaming and other mobile video services become more widely available, VSPs must employ a new generation of video delivery technologies to retain their competitive edge. Consisting of several next-generation products for live, on-demand and time-shifted delivery, RGB’s ‘Multiscreen 2.0’ solutions allow VSPs to significantly expand and streamline their TV Everywhere deployments, while generating new revenues.

“This February, Russia will be home to the Winter Olympics – set to be one of the most televised events in this year’s sporting calendar. CSTB in Moscow provides a timely reminder of just how much premium content of this nature there now is and therefore why it is essential for operators to have the right digital processing infrastructure in place to support its delivery,” said Scott Pranger, VP Sales EMEA and Global Channels for RGB Networks. “At this year’s CSTB we look forward to sharing with attendees the knowledge that we have gained helping the top international operators achieve their goals and how our field-proven solutions can be tailored to address differing needs.”

At CSTB, RGB will highlight its complete line of digital and IP video solutions, including:

Integrated Transcoding & Packaging: At the heart of RGB’s multiscreen solution is the Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG) Gen 2. This carrier-class platform performs the industry’s highest capacity real-time transcoding and is tightly integrated with RGB’s feature-rich TransAct Packager.

Multiscreen Monetisation: Utilising advanced adaptive bitrate streaming to facilitate hyper-targeted advertising down to the neighbourhood, device or even specific individual, RGB’s Ad Insertion for Multiscreen (AIM) solution enables VSPs to migrate to a proven model for monetizing video services in the multiscreen environment. Complementing this, RGB’s recently announced CloudXtream solution, an initiative based on the industry standard open source cloud operating system OpenStack, accelerates the deployment of these known revenue-generating services.

PVR and VOD for Multiscreen: Complementing its powerful live delivery solutions, RGB offers a flexible set of options to meet a wide range of on-demand and time-shifting delivery needs. For storage and bandwidth savings, RGB’s award-winning TransAct Packager performs just-in-time packaging for ‘on-the-fly’ packaging of streams into any of the leading adaptive streaming formats for cloud DVR or VOD applications.
