The R&S FSW becomes the first signal and spectrum analyzer offering 2 GHz internal analysis bandwidth
Developers of 5G radio access technologies, high-end radar systems and automotive applications need a very large bandwidth to analyze wideband signals. A new hardware option for the R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzer provides 2 GHz analysis bandwidth for these applications.
Munich, June 28, 2017 — Rohde & Schwarz is expanding the internal analysis bandwidth of its R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzer up to 2 GHz by introducing the new R&S FSW-B2001 option. This test solution enables R&D users to investigate wideband signals in detail without the need for an external digitizer.
The R&S FSW-B2001 option provides 14-bit ADC resolution and wide dynamic range, characterized by excellent SFDR figures, for example -65 dBc for 1200 MHz bandwidth. This translates directly into outstanding signal analysis performance. The instrument can measure an EVM of around -40.0 dB error vector magnitude with an OFDM signal (792 MHz BW, 300 kHz spacing, 64QAM, 4096 FFT) at 28 GHz.
Bandwidth up to 2000 MHz facilitates research and development for next generation mobile standards, as well as characterization of wideband amplifiers for 5G. Aerospace and defense developers will be able to use the 2 GHz analysis bandwidth to measure radar pulses down to nanosecond widths, and analyze frequency-agile radar or hopping radio systems. Automotive R&D applications include characterization of FM carrier wave signals for radar applications, and ultrawide bandwidth signals such as those used in keyless entry systems.
The R&S FSW-B2001 option for the R&S FSW43 and R&S FSW50 high-end signal and spectrum analyzers with frequency ranges up to 43.5 GHz and 50 GHz is now available from Rohde & Schwarz. In addition, those R&S FSWs already equipped with 1200 MHz internal analysis bandwidth (option R&S FSW-B1200) are readily upgraded via a key code.
