with more than 20 awards and nominations
in two years
Neumarkt, Austria – 2014-03-17 – ruwido is focused on creating innovative input devices that touch emotions, and are a joy to own and a joy to use. ruwido’s adherence to this unique philosophy and deep commitment to quality has been once more rewarded with the announcement that the company has been shortlisted in the 2014 TV Connect Industry awards.
ruwido’s latest solution, the innovative ‘bubble interaction mechanism’ ecosystem, has been nominated for a TV Connect award, in the ‘Best TV Consumer Device’ category. The end to end solution, comprising input device, set top box and dynamic user interface lays the basis for a more playful interaction with content and allows the synchronization of mind and sense. The TV Connect awards will be presented at a gala ceremony, held on Wednesday 19th March at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London.

Our product solutions have to be effective, efficient and create user satisfaction and we see the fact that we have received more than 20 awards and nominations during the last 24 months from independent juries from all over the world, as a validation of our approach to design,” says Ferdinand Maier, CEO, ruwido.
The nomination for the TV Connect awards adds to a successful run for ruwido. In the last two years, ruwido has been awarded five prestigious Red Dot Design Awards, three iF Product Design Awards, one Good Design Award and one German Design Award.
Beside these awards, eleven products in total received further accolades, underlining the design competence of the company. ruwido’s ‘consistent design r117’ input device, which utilizes voice control to allow intuitive navigation of content, was shortlisted at the IABM Awards, the TV Connect Awards in 2013, the Austrian Staatspreis Design and was honoured with the label ‘Best of 2013’ from the Innnovationspreis-IT Awards.
Similarly, ruwido’s ‘consistent design aura’ remote control, which replaces digital pushing of buttons with an analogue sliding mechanism, was awarded a ‘special mention’ in the German Design Award 2014 as well as the label, ‘best of 2012’, in the Innovationspreis-IT Awards.
