Satellite Information Services Deploys Level 3 Video Cloud to Power Live Streaming

– Level 3’s Cloud-based Content Delivery Solutions Help Improve Quality of Online Streamed and Broadcast Content

BROOMFIELD, Colorado, July 30, 2014Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) today announced its Level 3 Video Cloud has been selected by Satellite Information Services (SIS), a provider of end-to-end products and services to the betting and broadcast industries. Level 3 will be working to power existing and future rights-based online streaming and live TV broadcasts, which will be sent to SIS’ clients around the world.

SIS has been in the global betting and broadcast industries for more than 25 years and is rapidly developing its business in the digital space. By working with Level 3, the company will be able to increase available services from its traditional channel offering to include digital broadcast products and services where customers can subscribe to specific events or races. This additional offering will not only create a new revenue stream for SIS, but also will allow it to expand its customer base.

SIS is using a number of services within the Level 3 Video Cloud, including content delivery network (CDN), video encoding, Vyvx broadcast and security services. Working with Level 3, SIS will be able to deliver optimum quality content for clients in the UK, Germany, Spain, the UAE, Russia, Poland, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Australia, the Caribbean islands, Greece and Cyprus.
