Satellite Interference Reduction Group Renamed,

Restructured Under New Management Team

Blandford Forum, Dorset, England, March 9, 2011 — The Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group (SUIRG), the world’s leading organization working to reduce satellite frequency interference, today announced that it has adopted a new name and made key changes in its management structure.

The organization is now known as Satellite IRG to broaden its mission beyond the needs of the user community. Martin Coleman, IRG’s new Executive Director and president of COLEM Communications Ltd., said IRG will continue its practical initiatives of establishing Carrier ID, Training & Certification and Type Approvals while also increasing its support of other major groups such as the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) and the World Broadcasting Union’s International Satellite Operations Group (WBU-ISOG).

“Our efforts are all aimed at driving the organization forward, with better global reach and with the ultimate goal of eradicating interference before it starts,” said Coleman. “Satellite IRG has made some great achievements in recent years with its carrier ID initiatives and has brought many industry leaders on board. I am excited about the next steps towards eradicating interference.”

Coleman has been working with SUIRG for a number of years and was instrumental in establishing the ground rules for adding Carrier ID to digital video carriers. Coleman will continue his role as Chairman of the Video Committee and while also working with on the carrier ID committee focused on Data and VSATs.

Coleman praised out-going President Robert Ames, who was a founding member of SUIRG a decade ago.

“I am delighted to have been appointed this post by our board,” said Coleman. “A great deal of thanks and praise must go to Bob Ames who helped form and successfully guide the organization to its role today as a key player on satellite interference. Satellite IRG has made some great achievements in recent years with its carrier ID initiatives and has brought many industry leaders on board. I am excited about the next steps towards eradicating interference.”
