Save money, save the planet with new iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries

Non-toxic rechargeable line of batteries will hold their charge for up to seven years – and will pay for themselves after just two charges

iGo (www.igo.co.uk), a leading developer of eco-friendly power solutions, today introduced iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries, a low-cost, environmentally friendly alternative to disposable batteries that can save consumers a significant amount of money, whilst also helping to reduce the amount of landfill waste that is currently piling up across the UK.

The iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries will begin saving customers money after only two recharging cycles, and the savings will continue to grow with each additional use. As a result, iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries have the potential to save consumers tens of pounds over the life of the purchase, since just one iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Battery is equivalent to more than 40 single-use disposable batteries.

“The iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries deliver amazing value by allowing consumers to recharge their batteries over and over again, instead of having to go out and buy dozens and dozens of disposable batteries,” said Rob Falconer, MD of iGo EMEA. “In addition to saving money, customers can also feel good about doing their part to save the planet too: every time consumers use an iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Battery in place of a high-toxic alternative, they will be helping to keep more than 40 disposable batteries from being tossed into a landfill.”

The iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries are the only non-toxic rechargeable line of batteries available on the market. Also, unlike nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride cell batteries which self-discharge in less than 90 days, the iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries can carry their charge for up to seven years.

Thanks to this exciting technology, the iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries will work from the moment that consumers open the package, and yet will still be fully charged when they take the batteries out of a drawer several months – or even years – later. As a result, consumers will learn to “Charge-N-Store”, as they will know that the batteries will always be ready to use, no matter how long they have been in the drawer.

iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries are available in AA and AAA sizes and have an MSRP of £7.99 for a four-pack and £12.99 for an eight-pack. An iGo Green Charger must be used for recharging purposes and can be purchased for £15.99, which also includes a four-pack of AA batteries. Also available will be a two-way USB charger for those on the move. This USB charger (MSRP of £12.99) comes complete with two AA batteries.

The iGo Green Rechargeable Alkaline Batteries are currently available at www.iGo.com/eu and selected retailers across Europe.
