05.03.20– Shared Access, an independent owner and operator of shared wireless infrastructure, and The Aviva Stadium have successfully partnered with mobile operator Vodafone Ireland to launch 5G at the stadium. The news follows the previous investment of Shared Access to ensure all Mobile Network Operators benefit from state-of-the-art 2G / 3G / 4G connectivity at the premier sporting venue in Ireland.
The new 5G coverage makes The Aviva Stadium Ireland’s first 5G connected sporting venue and highlights the ongoing work of Shared Access to invest and build the telecommunications infrastructure of tomorrow’s network in today’s sporting venues. The 5G will transform the fan experience, with enhanced live streaming potential and opportunities to incorporate new technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality, to enrich live sporting occasions for the better.
Sports fans to The Aviva Stadium will now be able to enjoy a more immersive and interactive experience, either at the stadium or at home, further consolidating its position as the premier sporting venue in Ireland.
