siptel provides technology and onsite engineer for Thomson and First Choice call centre and gives prize for ‘Best Agent’ on the night

Siptel has announced that the Coventry based Thomson and First Choice call centre it supported raised £49,725 throughout the televised Sport Relief event on Friday 23rd March by taking donation calls. siptel also gave a prize to the ‘Best Agent’ on the night, who won £500 worth of holiday vouchers.

The Coventry call centre housed 140 volunteers for the event and took 1,563 calls throughout the evening. The highest donation, taken on a number of calls, was £1000. The call centre team also did some of their own fundraising by dressing up in fancy dress, baking cakes, and holding raffles and auctions with prizes.

“We’re thrilled to hear how much money was raised at the Thomson and First Choice call centre,” said Steve Rasmussen, Director at siptel. “Sport Relief is a fantastic cause that a lot of people want to donate to, so it was essential that the call centres that they reached were able to deal with the request as soon as possible. The solution that we implemented in the call centre there meant that Thomson and First Choice provided the best customer service possible, moving through calls quicker and ultimately helping to raise a lot of money for Sport Relief.”

As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. All the money raised by the public helps people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
