Izegem, Belgium, July 2011 – Skyline Communications, global leader in multi-vendor network management solutions for the IPTV, HFC broadband, broadcast and satellite industry, is launching at IBC 2011 the new 7.0 release of its renowned and globally deployed DataMiner multi-vendor network management platform, slated for release later this year. Amongst many other new features, DataMiner 7.0 brings a complete new user-centric metro-style UI, a new cutting-edge inventory & asset management solution, DataMiner Maps for interaction with third party map solutions such as Google Maps, new mobile clients for smartphones and a new open-architecture scheduling solution.

Today DataMiner enables operators around the globe to manage their entire operational ecosystem end-to-end across any vendor and technology boundaries. The solution is currently integrated with more than 2.000 devices and systems from more than 350 industry suppliers, and is guaranteed to interface with any product from any vendor, resulting in an unrivaled end-to-end perspective. DataMiner provides a single interface to manage complex studio systems, digital video headends, regional headends, distribution and transmission networks, and even down to the subscriber home. Currently DataMiner is in use in more than 60 countries world-wide by hundreds of leading operators to manage the most complex and prestigious high-tech infrastructures.

At IBC 2011, Skyline is officially launching its DataMiner 7.0 version, which further expands the solution to include comprehensive inventory and asset management capabilities, along with an entire suite of other new features and enhancements. The DataMiner Inventory & Asset Management (IAM) solution features a pronounced open architecture, based on industry standard components. DataMiner IAM provides comprehensive user-definable asset reporting capabilities, audit trailing, can seamlessly integrate and leverage existing CMDB platforms, and features full-fledged user-definable interaction with the live environment through the leading DataMiner network management platform.

The DataMiner Inventory & Asset Management solution features a full integration with the DataMiner correlation engines, service and SLA management layer, resulting in unrivalled intelligent management of the most complex ecosystems such as digital video headends, play-out facilities, VSAT systems, terrestrial transmission networks, contribution networks, satellite carrier management applications and much more.

“With DataMiner we have a very strong reputation of redefining how operators interact with their operational ecosystems, and to enable them to manage their operations more efficiently than ever before. And with DataMiner 7.0 we are very determined to continue to push the boundaries,” commented Ben Vandenberghe, Sales & Marketing Director at Skyline Communications. “The DataMiner Inventory & Asset Management add-on unlocks a plethora of applications, in many different areas. It also fully leverages various CMDB integrations that we have already deployed in the field with our customers.”

At IBC 2011, Skyline also puts the spotlight on the latest version of its renowned DataMiner CPE Manager platform. This unique solution enables operators to collect massive amounts of service quality and availability data across their entire deployed base of CPE devices such as set-top boxes and cable or DSL modems, and to intelligently correlate this against a multi-dimensional user-defined system model to pinpoint any operational issues with surgical precision. This solution has been further expanded, amongst other leveraging DOCSIS3.0 capabilities, and is now also combined with the integration of third party transport stream analyzers. The latter enables operators to manage their service delivery chain with any type of probe, and to get an unprecedented comprehensive overview from service acquisition to service delivery.
