Austin, TX, June 14, 2023: Skyvera [1], an affiliate of TelcoDR [2], and
a leading provider of innovative software solutions for communication
service providers (CSPs), today announced the successful upgrade of MTN
Sudan’s platform using Skyvera’s industry-leading, cloud-native
digital BSS/OSS portfolio.

The digital transformation project enables MTN Sudan, one of the leading
mobile operators in Sudan,  to use out-of-the-box features from
Skyvera’s cloud-native portfolio to meet more than 85% of its business
requirements, helping it to progress on its Ambition 2025 strategy to
fully digitize its operations as more customers come online for the
first time across the country. The upgrade included deep observability,
automated business processes, auto-scaling/auto-healing capabilities,
and TM Forum-certified APIs, enabling MTN’s digital operator
objectives.

The project has delivered impressive results, including completely
digitizing the subscriber onboarding journey and offering subscribers
greater flexibility to use the SIM purchased from POS, resellers, and
distributors. Additionally, it has digitized the self-service checkout,
persistent shopping cart, activation, and account management. The fully
converged billing solution includes retail, wholesale, and interconnect
billing, and charging for postpaid subscribers. These improvements have
resulted in a better experience for B2C, B2B, and wholesale customers
using cutting-edge technologies and a web-scale platform.

The partnership with Skyvera enabled project delivery with speed and
ease compared to past upgrades. Ahmed Mustafa, CIO of MTN Sudan,
commented, “During these challenging times, Skyvera’s team demonstrated
unprecedented dedication and urgency. Utilizing their best-in-class
technologies, they responded swiftly, outpacing the timelines typically
experienced with past vendors, and ensuring the provision of superior
connectivity services for the people of Sudan. Their Digital BSS/OSS
portfolio has played a critical role in our transformation journey,
resulting in enhanced customer experience amidst this crisis. Their
speed in project delivery, given the extraordinary circumstances, is a
testament to Skyvera’s resilience. We are excited to continue our
partnership with Skyvera, co-creating innovative digital solutions for
our customers.”

With over 12 million active subscribers and more than two million orders
processed daily, Skyvera’s cloud-native stack is geared to support MTN
Sudan’s multi-dimensional growth plans of 1.4 billion transactions per
month.

“We are thrilled to support the digitization of MTN Sudan using our
cloud-native, Digital BSS/OSS suite of products,” said Jeff Moyer, CEO
of Skyvera. “We’re happy to support our customer during this difficult
time and thankful that our team members were able to return safely from
Sudan. We are committed to delivering the best possible solutions for
our customers, and we look forward to our continued partnership with MTN
Sudan.”
