11% OF SPANISH HOMES WITH BROADBAND ALREADY HAVE  A CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SMART HOMES

·         Spain surpasses the United Kingdom and Germany in the use of domestic services.

·         On the 18th and 19th of November the Connections Europe 2014 Fair will take place in Amsterdam. It is the major European showcase for Smart Homes where Domoalert, a company from Gipuzkoa, will participate as a sponsor and will launch its comprehensive platform designed to control home domotics from mobile devices in a simple and intuitive way.

Eibar, 10 November 2014.- Today’s connected home is a changing place. The growing  infiltration of high speed broadband is allowing consumers to acquire new habits and new devices with greater interconnection capacities. In this sense, it must be noted that, according to a recent study by Parks Associates, 11% of Spanish homes with broadband already have a smart system for controlling homes, ahead of the United Kingdom, with  9%, and 5% in Germany.

A Smart Home is much more than just domotics. A real Smart Home is that which interacts with all home systems with a singular objective: to provide help. The big difference of a smart home lies in its ability to interact with the rest of the systems, depending on specific needs at any given time.

Hence the trend is to provide homes with interconnected gadgets via Wi-Fi by using a smart net. New Smart Home services that Telecommunication and Utility Companies are currently demanding so they can integrate these services into other customer offers.

Connections Europe 2014 is the European showcase for international trends, successful strategies and developments in digital technologies; in particular, those related to services of connected homes.

The event will bring together more than 100 executives from across an international arena to network and to analyse the more relevant issues in the field of digital products and services for consumers. 

Among the speakers that will take part in the event, there will be representatives from phone and telecommunication operators and Internet companies. The first to take to the stage will be Oliver Lewis, Director of Products & Operations at Sky Deutschland, and Ken Durand, Vice President of Innovation and Business Development at Ericsson. The remainder of the Executives will follow, among which will be Natividad García, Domoalert’s CEO.
