Smart Home Provides a Bright Future for Residential Security at the Digital Home World Summit

London, 5 June 2013 – This month’s Digital Home World Summit, which takes place 18-19 June in London, is set to throw a spotlight on residential security as activity in home automation takes off, and modern security systems come to market. As many high-profile residential security companies begin to give customers the ability to manage their home from Smart devices, the conference and exhibition provides the perfect platform to explore the opportunity for growth and innovation within the industry.

While home automation is still considered to be in its infancy, it undoubtedly presents a huge growth opportunity, and is good news for those in the industry looking to boost their existing revenue streams. Furthermore, the fact that the sector is poised for immense growth over the coming years emphasises the vast potential for operators and system manufacturers.

Kamelija Stefanova, Research Manager at Informa Telecoms and Media, says: “As technology continues to advance and give birth to new innovations, residential customers are becoming increasingly aware of home automation systems and their capabilities. Modern security systems now have the ability to manage locks and video surveillance cameras remotely, offer control over connected electronic devices to enhance safety in the house, and much more.”

“Additionally, further developments in super-fast broadband services will support home automation demand, with new and improved products taking greater advantage of digitalisation within the Connected Home.”

The Digital World Summit, now in its fourth year, includes a stellar line-up of key speakers that will address residential security and home automation, including Alvaro Gallardo, Director of Smart Home Services and Assistance in the Home at Orange France; Antonio Rodriguez del Corral, Business Development Director at Mundo-R; and Komang Aryasa, AVP Convergent Product at PT Telkom Indonesia.

This year’s event boasts an exciting and innovative programme already featuring over 40 speakers, of which over 20 represent telecom or cable network owners while most of the attendees being senior decision makers. Visitors will be able to experience a pre-conference workshop which focuses on creating a digital profile for consumers, and will have the opportunity to listen to visionary speakers and to network with likeminded peers.

The conference and exhibition will take place at the Hilton Paddington in London on 18-19 June.
