SmartIPX Selects Cataleya to Deliver Enhanced Quality of Service for Its Wholesale Voice Offering
Customers will benefit from Intelligent IP infrastructure designed for the global delivery of IPX-enabled communications services
London, United Kingdom – 25 September 2014 – SmartIPX, a UK-based managed services and White Label Network Operation Centre (NOC) provider, has deployed Cataleya’s Orchid One Network Session and Application Manager, a highly advanced evolution of a session border controller (SBC), to support the growth of its Wholesale Voice Platform as a Service offering.
SmartIPX will use Orchid One to deliver enhanced quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) for its MVNO and voice service provider customers around the globe. The Network Session and Application Manager gives SmartIPX the ability to monitor QoS and QoE in real-time to maintain or enhance network performance.
Paul Tindley, CEO at SmartIPX, says, “This deployment reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality services for our customers and proactively enhancing our network capabilities. Our managed services partners rely on us to deliver IP communications that are not just ‘best effort’ but industry–leading. By deploying Orchid One we are taking our services to a new level.”
The Orchid One Network Session and Application Manager is specifically designed to enable the delivery of IP communications services and high-performance applications. It delivers full end-to-end QoS and QoE with visibility from the transport to applications layers, which is critical for the delivery of IPX-enabled networks. As a Network Session and Application Manager Orchid One combines the functionality of a SBC with increased control, intelligence and real-time automation.
“SmartIPX recognised the potential of Orchid One to develop its operation and make quality and network performance a true differentiator. Its wholesale voice customers will benefit from intelligent network infrastructure that makes an immediate difference in the service they receive,” says Jay Jayasimha, Chief Technology Innovation Officer at Cataleya. “When you put intelligence in the network, you change what is possible in your business.”
SmartIPX deployed Orchid One Network Session and Application Manager following an extensive and successful trial in Q2 2014. Using Orchid One’s service management capability SmartIPX has simplified its network operations from several network elements to a simple, manageable infrastructure.
Tindley says, “SmartIPX is a rapidly growing organisation and investments in new technology like Orchid One underpin our vision for an IP-centric world. The product roadmap and the relationship we’ve built with the team at Cataleya give us confidence that we are creating customer value in the long-term. ”
