Spectralink Completes Cisco Interoperability Verification Testing with Cisco Developer Network

Boulder, Colorado and Horsens, Denmark – May, 6, 2014 – Spectralink Corporation (“Spectralink”), a global leader in wireless solutions for the workplace, today announced that its in-building wireless solutions based on DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology) have successfully completed interoperability verification testing* with Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 9.1. Spectralink DECT solutions seamlessly integrate to Cisco Unified Communications environments to provide mobile communications for specialised working environments such as healthcare, manufacturing and retail. Specific solutions include the Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and Spectralink IP-DECT Server 6500, which power the Spectralink DECT handsets.

Spectralink IP-DECT solutions support seamless handover between base stations, extensive radio coverage, messaging to handsets and value-added. Spectralink also offers a flexible license option that allows you to only pay for the users you need.

Spectralink IP-DECT Servers are also scalable to grow as business requirements grow and change.  The servers leverage the same software and support the same Spectralink DECT handsets so it’s simple to transition from one server to the next.  The Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 supports small installations and up to 30 wireless users and up to 12 simultaneous calls. For larger deployments, the Spectralink IP-DECT Server 6500 supports up to 4096 users, 1024 IP base stations and up to three repeaters per base station.

“At Spectralink we are committed to providing customers with in-building solutions that work with a wide range of market leading Unified Communications (UC) systems, and therefore we’re excited to complete interoperability verification testing with Cisco,” said Sten Dyrmose, CEO at Spectralink. “Many businesses, both large and small are looking to Cisco as an integral part of their UC roadmap and it’s essential that our products can support that move.”

The Cisco Developer Network unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers, harnessing the power and intelligence of the network. As a Registered Developer, Spectralink offers a complementary product offering and has started to collaborate with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers. With offerings such as Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and 6500, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco compatible business applications, devices, or services that can enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of the Cisco network.  For more information on Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 and 6500 interoperability with Cisco Unified Communications Manager version 9.1.go to: https://marketplace.cisco.com/catalog/products/4567
