SLT Adopts Next-Generation, End-to-End Revenue Management

WALTHAM, MA — June 11, 2014NetCracker Technology announced today that Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has chosen to upgrade its existing NetCracker billing and mediation environment to NetCracker’s next-generation billing, rating and active mediation solutions.

Sri Lanka Telecom is Sri Lanka’s national ICT solutions provider and leading broadband and backbone infrastructure service provider. SLT delivers quad-play services to consumers; 4G LTE; FTTx; Wi-Fi hotspots; carrier grade Wi-Fi technology; advanced IP-networking and applications to small, medium and large business customers; and wholesale network and traffic transit services to global telecom operators and enterprises.

“NetCracker is a longstanding partner for Sri Lanka Telecom and provides us with the solutions we need to bring our revenue management infrastructure to the forefront of the digital business revolution, which will invariably help us to play a leadership role in realizing the country’s vision of a SMART Sri Lanka,” said Lalith de Silva, Group Chief Executive Officer at Sri Lanka Telecom. “NetCracker’s unparalleled delivery record and strong solution suite makes it the logical choice to transform our billing, rating and mediation capabilities across our consumer, enterprise and global wholesale lines of business. This will ultimately lead to a superior delivery of our services resulting in an enhanced customer experience.”

In this transformation project, NetCracker will upgrade Sri Lanka Telecom to the next-generation rating, charging, billing and mediation components of its leading-edge Digital Business Platform. SLT’s existing solutions are pre-acquisition versions of NetCracker’s billing and mediation solutions. This upgrade extends SLT’s partnership with NetCracker and brings it the latest in end-to-end revenue management functionality.

NetCracker will also consolidate SLT’s two existing NetCracker mediation systems onto its innovative Active Mediation platform. This will enable SLT to introduce a range of new pricing, rating and billing configurations that address emerging digital business models; the growing demand for transactional digital services; and the need for personalized customer experience.

This new solution will be integrated with a number of SLT’s existing BSS systems to create seamless, end-to-end revenue management processes and strengthen SLT’s go-to-market capabilities for new services and bundles as well custom enterprise and wholesale agreements.

“The shift toward an end-to-end, next-generation architecture is a sign of an emerging trend that NetCracker is not only witnessing but is enabling for our innovative customers around the world,” said Ganesh Balasubramanian, Vice President APAC and Middle East at NetCracker. “We are excited to help Sri Lanka Telecom embrace this movement and monetize its digital business by using leading-edge revenue and transaction management solutions.”
