SSL VPN for iOS, Android, Windows Phone/Mobile 7 and BlackBerry

NCP’s Secure Enterprise VPN Server now integrates smartphones and tablet PCs into any company-wide remote access VPN

The new NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Server of the Nuremberg-based NCP engineering GmbH now supports SSL VPN for all common mobile end-devices. Other VPN connections like L2TP over IPsec or IPsec are available for Android and iOS end-devices, respectively.

Version 8.05 now enables the following platforms to access company web applications via a standard web browser and SSL VPN: Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad), Google Android, Microsoft Windows Phone or Mobile 7 and RIM BlackBerry starting from version 6. In addition the VPN gateway enables Android and iOS end-devices to connect via L2TP over IPsec or IPsec, respectively. The devices’ integrated VPN Client is easily able to set up a secure VPN connection to the NCP Gateway.

Apart from that Web-Proxy Module (SSL tunnel to internal web servers) now supports more features and is now significantly more compatible to web applications. The end-devices also display web sites that were especially developed for the respective platform of the device. Starting with this version, the VPN Thin Client Module (SSL VPN Port Forwarding) is also available for Mac OS X platforms.

NCP also released the new VPN Gateway Software for all common Linux 64 bit distributions. After a comprehensive code review, actions were taken to further increase stability and security. All customers using version 8.x are entitled to a free update.

It goes without saying that NCP also offers native IPsec VPN clients for various operating systems; the Clients are optimised for interaction with the hybrid IPsec / SSL VPN server for remote access. Without any problems, of course, the end-devices can be integrated into an existing IT infrastructure.
