Survey reveals Samsung is top mobile for adulterers

And…

· * 37% of cheating men sext 5-7 times a week

· * 31% of cheating women sext from supermarket

A survey by AshleyMadison.com, the world’s largest extra-marital dating site, reveals that Samsung is the most popular brand of mobile phone for British adulterers.  Male and female members of the site responded to questions about their preferred technology for conducting secret affairs, including how often and where they ‘sext.’

Samsung was the preferred handset for 54% of British men and 48% of women, with Apple’s iPhone in second place for 24% of men and 28% of women. Blackberry was third (with 8% and 4% respectively) while other mobile phone brands were even less popular.

‘We see the same pattern globally with Samsung the most popular and the iPhone second, especially for women,’ says Christoph Kraemer, AshleyMadison.com’s European Communications Director.  ‘Samsung have upped their game and it’s paid off – except for our Finnish members, who still opt for Nokia.’

Sexting is particularly prevalent amongst people having affairs, in part as an alternative to meeting up.  37% of male AshleyMadison.com members in Britain said that they sext messages 5-7 times a week with an even higher figure for women of 42%, 5-7 times per week.

Men are most likely to sext from work (36%), women from the supermarket (31%). ‘This surprised us,’ says Christoph Kraemer, ‘the only country where more women say they sext from the supermarket is Mexico, but it makes sense, women are known for multi-tasking and if you’re time-short, why not use those spare minutes in the check-out queue!’

Smart phones are also increasingly used for taking ‘sex selfies’, filming or photographing yourself having sex, which is becoming a widespread practice world-wide and especially popular in the UK.  71% of British male AshleyMadison.com respondents and 69% of women say they have taken a sex selfie, compared with 60.19 and 51.6 of the site’s members globally.

‘Technology is important for our members’ says Christoph Kraemer. ‘The very nature of having a secret affair means people are short of time, so they want speed and first rate functionality from a mobile.  This survey is a vote of confidence in Samsung from the cheating community.’
