a Wireless IP BRIDGE for
High Quality live Production
Amsterdam, September 12, 2014 – TeamCast, the world-renowned leader in digital modulation technologies for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), Satellite Transmission and Wireless Video Applications, unveils today an innovative solution for a “Wireless COFDM IP Bridge” for high quality live production in the field.
Using TeamCast’s proven core modules, this ground-breaking solution provides a reliable transmission of IP traffic in full duplex with standard Ethernet compliant interfaces, over both licenced and licence-exempt RF channels.
Based on robust COFDM modulation with a range of flexible settings, the wireless IP link is highly stable, in both Line-of-Sight and Non-Line-of-Sight applications, covering all the requirements of remote camera and mobile production units. It offers a constant, non-shared bit rate for Audio and Video Bridging over Ethernet.
“This new concept of a Wireless IP Bridge offers unprecedented production freedom and flawless connectivity for live outside broadcasts, thanks to the increasing use of IP interfaces”, says Samuel Ryckewaert, Head of Wireless Activity at TeamCast.
Samuel adds, “The unique advantage over usual link implementations comes from the field proven advanced modulation and the native IP transport capabilities, which mean low latency & guaranteed throughput. The performance is more than sufficient to meet the requirements of HD Broadcast Quality Production today, and even 4K Broadcast Quality Production tomorrow with the advent of HEVC/H265 video compression!”
The Wireless IP Bridge concept will be shown on TeamCast’s stand, Hall2, stand 2.B51 at IBC 2014.
